Cell phone or phone card

I was in Aruba the first week of October 2009. Had a wonderful time. It was my first time to Aruba. I took my laptop. It cost $ 35.00 to use the Setar wifi system in Aruba for a week. I used a SKYPE connect for phone service...it cost less than 5 cents (.05) a minute a call for the calls to the USA...that was awesome. You just have to download SKYPE and it is free. You make the phone calls via SKYPE through the computer. We made several calls and it cost us less than $ 5 for the whole week and that is calling 5 or 6 times to the USA. This is a good deal and definitely worth the cost of the wifi connect. FYI

Do most of you just buy the sim card in Aruba? I've looked online to try to pre-order it (the Setar Primo card), but it is out of stock on every site that I go to.

for all laptop owners - buy yourself a magic jack (VOIP) - it costs about $20.00 a year and you can call for "FREE" back home.

-i grabbed this from there website (below)

Can I make calls to countries outside the US and Canada on magicJack?

Answer

YES! magicJack allows you to call almost anywhere in the world.
  • Call from your magicJack from any country to the U.S. and Canada and the call is free.
  • Call from a magicJack to a magicJack in any country and the call is free.
  • Call from the U.S. or Canada to the U.S. or Canada and the call is free.
  • Call from your magicJack to another country, other than the U.S. or Canada, and you must prepay for international minutes.

she uses her magic jack while living in aruba but it is a USA phone number!
