    Cellphone Question/Wi-Fi

I tried to find this some where in the forum and did not... So hopefully someone can help..

Does anyone know how much it is to purchase a setar (or any other phone company) to use in Aruba..

Last year when I went I rented one, it was around $100.0 ( i don't remember the exact price)...I just remember I had to call the girl, wait for her and wait for her to pick it up...Not that I am complaining, but I would prefer to have it ready for me when I check in and not have deal with waiting, around!! Maybe I am being lazy/complaining!!

Considering I go back every year, would it make more sense to buy one and activate or just rent one??

I am staying at the Hyatt this year, and I wasn't sure if they had free wi-fi or not?? in the rooms/lobby? does anyone know??

    Any help would be great!
    Thanks!!

For just a phone (not smart phone). Go online and hunt down any "unlocked GSM" phone that accepts SIM cards. You should be able to get one for under $50. You can then stop at the Setar booth at the airport - they will pop in a $20 card and you will be good to go. You will also be able to keep that number if you visit the island often enough.

Depending on what phone you own at home - it may be possible to turn that phone into an "aruba phone" temporarily.

Feel free to ask more... I have a lot of experience with using phones in aruba.

Here is a link to a very basic phone that would work fine.
