College Student Studying Aruba (looking for some intersting facts)

Hey Everyone,

First post here in the forums. I'm an undergraduate student at the University of New Hampshire. I'm currently taking an honors course called "New Pirates of the Caribbean." Throughout the semester we have been studying how tourism (among other things) effects the islands. I choose Aruba as my island to write a capstone paper on.

What I'm looking for:
-Interesting cultural facts
-How people who live on the island feel about tourism
-some of the "gems" of the island
-any interesting facts or opinions are welcome

There is a web site devoted to information about Lago Oil and Transport and The Colony where the families lived that you may find interesting and some useful information. It is: lago-colony.com.
