Will be in Aruba for 2 weeks, any suggestions on ways to keep in touch with family in the USA

if you're staying in the palm beach area, the internet cafe charges 50 cents per minute for a phone call(great deal).

Bring a laptop. Wireless access to hot spots throughout the island cost $30 a week (www.setar.aw). Once your online, you can use SKYPE (www.skype.com) which cost a few cents a minuet if you call a phone and free if you Skype another computer.

My daughter sware by her itouch to text boyfriend 9000 times a day..

If you're staying at the Marriott Ocean or Surf Club, internet is free- wired in the villas and wireless at hot spots around the property like the pool and lobby so you can Skype to another computer in the US for free. If you have a cell phone with a sim card you can buy a sim card on the way out of the airport or in the hotels and the cost is pretty reasonable or you can rent rent a phone from one of the local companies.

Where are you staying?

We stay at the Marriott Ocean Club. Free internet and for $3 to Skype you can make unlimited calls to USA cellphones and land lines for the month. Skype to Skype is of course still free.
