We did not see any of this insanity at the pool last week. There are now so many lounge chairs as they have expanded the second tier pool seating area and many of them have shade covers (they call them biminis) that you either must have a very specific chair in mind or be a bit obsessive (is that a good pc word for nuts?) to go down at 5:30am and wait until 7am. We are good friends with one of the beach/pool workers at the Surf Club and she told us that Thanksgiving week, the 2 weeks around Christmas and President's week in February are now the only real crazy times at the pool. It was certainly busy at the SC last week, but it seemed more laid back than past years...and the adult pool is great for those of us with grown kids!

She did want specific chairs...so she could see her two little ones on the water slide. My big thing is SHADE, so I am thrilled that there are more biminis. Last August, I was willing to do 6:15, to ensure shade chairs. We arrive Sun. around dinner time so have time to see the pool and new setup a little bit before we have to deal with it Monday! I am thrilled it is more laid back, as yes, it was stressful before. I have little ones too, and they do the camp in the mornings, so I will be sure to enjoy the adult pool then!

It is really a peaceful place. Here's a picture I took from our terrace at about 7pm.

    Linear Park update

The Linear Park project is proceeding. Driving by there yesterday, we noted the progress across the street from the Talk of the Town Hotel, at the traffic circle by the Cas di Cultura. This will be a big improvement for the Nikky Beach area and toward Pincho's. They're using pavers, probably a zillion of them, also building kiosks that I hope will sport some snack shacks and such. We'll see.

Not surprised by the size of the ritz carlton project. several years ago the aruban govt said that there would not be any more new properties on the island. but i knew they were not done building. the ritz must have made a crazy offer. we stay at the marriott ocean club so it will be interestsing to see what they do with that part of the beach in front of the ritz. i'm sure they will build up the beach bigtime.
