Our Citi Bank card did the same to us earlier this year. Since the notice came while we were in Aruba, I was able to get the transaction fee removed. Future use in Aruba will have a transaction fee, though.

We are looking for another card that does not have the foreign fee.

We don't either with AMEX. Might just be the type of AMEX card we have. Did get hit with a fee using our debit card last year in Aruba.

Andrea, that is the same card that we have, & though I was able to get the transaction fee removed, I was told there will be a fee next time in Aruba. I guess I'll have to call them again. And yes, I asked only about Aruba and the fact that all transactions were in U.S. dollar.

credit card fee

my son has used his Citi Bank credit card for many years in Aruba. Last month he paid for a room and used the same card and was charged a $7.00 fee. when he called they would not refund the fee. He is looking for a card that does not have this fee for Aruba purchases.....

CitiCard Advantage Fees

How ironic! I just got off the phone 5/23/09 and argued about foreign charges I got for my purchases made this year. I argued with the guy and told him I would be considering another credit card after all these years. He wasn't fazed and said this has been the policy for years. I looked at previous bills and I was right! I am going to use up my points and get rid of the card.

Let's all boycott CitiCard!!!
