credit card with "FF miles"

I have never come across a credit card that has ff miles that doesn't have a big yearly fee. I pay my card's balance off every month and would still do that, but I would like a card that offers miles. Do the miles offers work out ok usually?

Re: credit card with "FF miles"

I've had a CAPITAL ONE card for several years - annual fee is $19. That's an incredible bargain based on other FF cards I've had.
We've redeemed miles twice (once for our upcoming trip to Aruba) and have never had a problem!
With Capital One, you can use miles anytime on any major airline (fares must not exceed what I consider a reasonable high end) and just recently, they've set up their website so you can book flights directly.

Re: credit card with "FF miles"

Debbie: I have a CitiCard Platinum card that I pay a $50. a year charge on. I pay the balance every month so I never pay any interest.
Last Apr. we flew on AA to Aruba,2 tics.,using our miles. By the time we get back from this years trip to Aruba we will have enough miles [60k] for our airfare in the fall for a vac. then or to use for next year to Aruba.
We use the card for EVERYTHING .We always pay off each months balance, and feel the ser. chg. is reasonable if you balance it against the cost of airline tics.
MHO hope this helps. Geo.

Re: credit card with "FF miles"

I have a United Mileage Plus Visa. I do pay $60 a year. I charge all my running around expenses to the card. Groeceries, dry cleaning, gas............ I pay it off every month and think the yearly service charge is ridiculous. I know there are some cards out there without this fee. Not sure though which ones. I decided the miles kick back more than made up for this fee. It is amazing how fast these miles add up. Sis in law has a card that she can use miles on any airline. She really likes it!

Re: credit card with "FF miles"

Credit card miles are actually better than the Airline FF miles. Credit card miles have no restrictions because you are actually purchasing a ticket. I use MBNA World Points Platinum Plus MasterCard. It has no annual fee, and for 30,000 points (dollars spent using the card), you get $600 towards a ticket to Aruba. If the ticket is less than $600 it is free. If it is more than $600 you can pay the difference.

I have a american air. credit card . Now going 2nd year to Aruba on free miles. Also going to Hawaii in Dec. Usually only can get two tickets at a time...Never had a prob. 50.00 year. fee. Been to Vegas on them and Arizona several times. (with the Hawaii only had two seats on whole plane. And booked way in advance)

Re: credit card with "FF miles"

I use the Citibank AAvantage card for American Airlines miles. We are getting our free flight to Aruba in 6 weeks, but I booked it last June as soon as the flights became available. I wanted to be on the non-stop flight and asked for a Sat.-Sat. flight, but the non-stop's do not go on Sat. from Boston-Aruba; so I had to take a Sun.-Sun. schedule to do non-stop.
I used to have American Express for Delta Frequent Flyer miles, but could never get a flight I wanted. Even though almost all my miles were a 2-for-1 program, I got rid of American Express.

Re: credit card with "FF miles"

I forgot to say, the Capital One card is for a Miles One account. I like having a choice of airlines when I use miles, which is another reason I switched from a specific airline's FF credit card.
