    Cuban Cigars

I see where the president has relaxed the Cuban embargo. Can we now bring Cuban cigars back from Aruba legally? Not that I ever brought any back before (:, but can we bring them back without hiding them?

I think Cuban cigars were really sought after due to their lack of legal availability in the US, and I think there are some Dominican and even Aruban cigars that stand up to their Cuban counterparts quite well. I used to pull the bands off and bring them back, but since I no longer smoke cigars, I am looking forward to bringing home Cuban rum.

Oh great I always wanted to bring home a bottle of that Cuban Rum I buy in Aruba Havana Club I believe is called. They don't have it at the duty free but it's available at lings and other supermarkets. I had it at the airport bar before my trip home last September.

Yes, that is exactly the brand I am hoping to bring back. I enjoy it on the rocks...

Hate to be the burster of bubbles, but...

Technically bringing back Cuban Cigars from Aruba is still illegal. I was in Aruba last month when Obama made the announcement and got excited! And then read this below:

Straight from US Customs and Border Patrol... https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/det...g-cuban-cigars

"Purchasing Cuban-orgin cigars and/or Cuban-origin rum or other Cuban-origin alcohol over the internet or while in a third country (i.e. not Cuba) remains prohibited."

Shnyda is correct. The embargo hasn't been lifted or relaxed. the change in only for "licensed" visitors to Cuba. Even then, they can only bring back a total of $400 in goods, but no more than $100.00 in tobacco and $100.00 in alcohol.
