daily budgeting on aruba

Ok, in American dollars, about how much should we budget per day to take care of the following:
breakfast-nothing fancy, lunch-nothing fancy, dinner-at any of the places people have been talking about here-buccanneer, french, le dome, etc.
I know people have differing ideas of what is pricey or cheap, but I want to get a sort of ballpark figure. thanks

Re: daily budgeting on aruba

How many people? Dinner can easily run $100 to $200 depending on what you do and where you go. If you get salad, soup, drinks, entrees, coffee, dessert, etc. it will typically be $100+ at most places (for 2). If you go to a fancier place, more. Many places have breakfast buffets where $20-$30 per person is common. Lunch can be as easy as getting a hot dog at the pool or sitting down in a nicer place in a hotel overlooking the beach. It could be $10 or $70 depending on where you are and what you get. So... I would say it would be from $100 (light side) to $250 per day. Pretty wide range huh?

Re: daily budgeting on aruba

I had budget of $200.00 per day. ( I took $1500.00 US for 7 days)
That paid for a 3 day jeep rental, wyndham breakfast buffet deal, light !! lunches and wonderful dinners at very nice restaurants.
I do not drink BUT my husband does. 1. Flying fishbone 2. Sunset Grille,3. Hyatt 4. Pago pago
5. Blossoms etc.

We had a fridge in our room so we had snacks there also. Bought booze at store and mixed them for the time on the beach.

Hope this helps

p.S. last years prices

Re: daily budgeting on aruba

Assuming there's two of you, I think you could get by on between $150 and 200 per day for all meals. Just don't go crazy buying drinks at dinner. Go to the supermarket. There you can buy booze, beer, soft drinks, juices and fruit, milk or cereal. Tea and coffee are usually provided with the rooms, or in the lobby at most resorts, and there should be a in-room fridge to keep stuff cold. Cereal, or fruit or toast for breakfast. Sausage, crackers and cheese for lunch, or maybe a Subway sandwich or slice of pizza once in a while. If you want eggs and bacon every morning, there are a wide range of places to eat. it doesn't have to cost $20 - 30. You'll get by somehow, but make that effoirt to go to the supermarket. It'll save you a bunch and let you pick what you like to eat.

enjoy

Re: daily budgeting on aruba

Just do what we did. On our first full day we went to Hong King to load up on breakfast food...cereal,bagels,juice, fruit. For lunch we purchased sandwichs or salads from Subway. We stayed at Bucuti, so the Subway is a short walk away. We purchased our own healthy snacks to nibble on the beach, then we splurged on dinner usually no more than $150.00 for the two of us. Also Machebo has a great very inexpensive breakfast.
Hope this helps.

Re: daily budgeting on aruba

If you want to save a few pennies , the blossoms restaurant has an early dining menu, I believe you have to order between 6-6:30 pm, and its something like $15.50 for a complete dinner. You get the same dinner that would cost much more after 6>30. You only have the choice of chicken or steak but its great!! Enjoy!@!
