Nice column. Arubaville sounds good. They have a facebook page with lots of photos may just have to add it to the list for November.

I watched The Occidental being built back in 1975 when it was the Americana and stayed there consecutively for 15 years.
Not a fan of all-inclusive. I have to go to The Buccaneer for my eating pleasure! Counting the days till September!!!!

I wonder if Hyatt will get in a bidding war with Marriott over the Occidental properties? I am not a fan of AI on Aruba as it is easy and safe to go to a decent restaurant any where on the island. Mexico and several other Islands is a different story. My feeling on AI is that they already have your money so they don't really care if you eat their food so they don't really care about the quality. I have eaten at some good AIs but most of them are average or below. We stay at AIs when we feel safer doing so. We do know people that always stay at AIs where ever they go. The question I always ask is would you do an AI in Paris or go out and eat at a restaurant?
