dee fine! aargh!!

Is anyone just as upset about dee fine's (alabama radio host)comments on boycotting aruba? This is a woman who could care less about the welfare and daily living of a nation because she feels that the law system is unjust. Don't you guys think that this is a ridiculous excuse. Aruba is a generally safe island, you'd be a lot safer there then in Jamaica or Bahamas or other islands. No place can guarantee 100% safety, when you travel abroad common sense and safety should be your main concern. Yes it is sad that someone went missing. But people go missing everyday all over the world in differnt countries. Are you going to stop visiting those places too?
Yes the police may not have acted the way Americans believe that a missing persons case should be. But this isn't America. Maybe if there wasn't so much media influence things could have been better, this could have been solved already. Think about it, little crime in a place and
Then all of a sudden you have cameras everywhere from all over,a lot of pressure bearing down on you. You got to see things from both sides of the issue.
So for anyone else who feels that Dee Fine is talking a load of crap you're not the only ones. She wants people to visit America and only other places in America....umm this is the reason why a lot of people believe that Americans are insular and do not care about the world surrounding them because of people like dee fine and her comments.Yes you can visit places within your own country but don't say that people should boycott a whole island because of one crime. Why not tell people to also boycott every island in the carribean, I'm sure those places also have crime, drugs and missing persons.
Well hopefully people choose not to listen to Dee Fine and still come to Aruba. Hopefully they'd use their common sense and see that there is crime everywhere and that when you travel abroad have fun, but be safe.

Wonder if Dee Fine is going to boycott the US? There are hundreds of cases of missing people here.

Re: dee fine! aargh!!

Dee Fine, along with Nancy Disgrace (CNN) and practically all the US media, is creating a story out of nothing. Of course the whole island of Aruba is not responsible for this horrific crime. And it will not be solved any quicker if the media puts pressure on everyone. Don't you think the Arubans want this solved too? Duh!!

Re: dee fine! aargh!!

shana, dee fine or nobody else will deter Aruba vacationers from seeking their paradise. Its been talked about here so many times about safety and all the junk ideas in many many ways, it has become worn out already.

Dee Fine knows or needs to know that Alabama so far this year alone, has had hundreds of rapes and vicious murders, many of them unsolved. Why dont she jump on the Alabama bandwagon of crime and try to straighten their problems out?
One issue in Aruba is all she can cling to for boycotting?
She's a news go getter. Thats her job. The more opposition she gets from the public the more popular in the news world she becomes.
Thats what her sponsors strive for.
Fear not. Aruba always has and always will.....rule!
