DEPALM WATERPARK

Can anyone tell me if the Depalm Island waterpark is for all ages or just children?
I am going with 2 14-year olds and was wondering if it is something they would enjoy or is it aimed more for young children?

Re: DEPALM WATERPARK

Paula,
read further under water activities. Apparently it is more babish, not like Disney, and after seeing pictures it looks good for a 6 yr old, not 14. I too was curious as i have a 14 and 15 yr old and we are going week 15 and 16.

Re: DEPALM WATERPARK

Just went a couple weeks ago. It is as fun as you make it. Took my daughter and her friend who are both 12, also my nephew who is 20. I also went down the slides, not huge but fun. Take some bread when you go snorkeling, and the 2 foot parrot fish swarm all around(you can even touch them)The food is marginal at best.Kind of alot of money. Did the full day, first thing in the morning, the waterpark was pretty full, then those people left, and we pretty much had the place to ourselves, which was nice. So that being said, if your kids are into having fun easily they should be fine. If they are at that stage where they just sit around, probably a waste. Don't know if this helps, but it's how I see it!

Re: DEPALM WATERPARK

From everything I have read it is small in comparison to US waterparks and geared more towards the little kids.

Check out depalm 2007 brochure which you can link thru this site. You will beable to see the park in its entirety. Good for smaller kids i think.

Re: DEPALM WATERPARK

I have been to Aruba (5) times and to dePalma island (3) times. yes, it is for young chuildren and teenagers or any age in between. It offers ok food...hamburgers, hot dogs, BBQ and drinks. You rent snorkle, mask & fins and off you go swimming off the small pier... its fun and relaxing. there are places to sit and lounge all day long while the young kids or older children play in the water or snorkle. Its worth the trip one time and I would suggest getting there early and staying the day... They also offer events for (adults only....I mean no kids) in the club house on the island, but I am not aware of the details... All you need is a towel and bathing suit...nothing fancy...very laid back...bring your own food as well... They have very good lockers there as well with very good locks... Of the three days I spent there over the last five years, I had nothing but fun...Enjoy and have a wonderful trip to Aruba...the only problem with Aruba its like a drug, you must go back...ha..ha..ha. Paul & Coleen Clapper, Syracuse, New York....AOL address if any other questions: c7989@aol.com
