digicel and setar hot spot devices and my locked/unlocked iphone 6splus

so my mifi device is unusable due to the company being out of business.

digital and setar do not sell these devices.

how do i find out if my verizon iPhone 6S+ is unlocked?

i would like to add a sim card to use it as a hotspot since the wifi here is ungodly slow.

from what we were told when we got our iphones with verizon was if the phone is paid for, there are no more contracts with verizon so as long as the phone is paid for, they have to unlock it for you. now our phones aren't paid for yet, we knew we should have just paid for them in cash, but when they are, we are going to have verizon unlock the phones so the next time we go away, we can get a sim card

My understanding is that the only way to buy it unlocked is to buy it directly from the Apple store and that is what we do.

As for the Digicel 3G, that is very slow, we had problems just trying to send small pictures, we could only do it from our resort WiFi.
Spring and Fall 2018 are hopefully in the works

I believe Curt has a digital hotspot. you may want to message him or catch him on Facebook to ask.

Maybe the unlock hasn't pushed to your phone yet? Try a reboot?

I don't have Verizon, but when I contacted my carrier a few years ago I was told the phone was paid off & able to be unlocked but they don't do that unless it is requested. Maybe the Verizon rep unlocked it today when you chatted?

yes, i was under the impression from verizon that they had to do something on their end to unlock it so Jacki may be right, try rebooting it and then see if its unlocked.
