Dinner Reservations

As a general rule Is it necessary to place reservations for restaurants? How far in advance? Any good ones within walking distance of the Renaissance Ocean Suites? We will be there April 4-11.

------ Yes
>>>> "How far in advance?"
------ Would say 5PM for that night except for MJ or FF. Those 2 call a few days ahead.
>>>> "good ones within walking distance"
------ Driftwood and Rumba.

Que Pasa, El Goucho and The Old Fisherman are our favorites and all within walking distance. We stay at the Renaissance Marina Towers across the street from the Ocean Suites. LG Smith's Steak House in the Marina Tower is also very good. We've never made reservations for any of these places and have never had any problem. You may have to wait at El Goucho, later in the evening, say after 7:30. As Tom said, you can always make most the day you want to dine if you are concerned.

Jes, you could eat and walk for 2 weeks without ever having to leave downtown.... As mentioned below all are excellent. Another not listed is Iguana Joe's, a must, while you watch the world go by beneath you, and view the cruise ships docked in town. Another La terraza, waterfront crabhouse, Villa Germania, Chinese place located in Ren. mall, Aquarius breakfast, lunch or dinner buffet...All good choices. You can't miss...

Freon.....since you're staying at Renaissance you should know that Celia, the Concierge at the Renaissance Marina Tower (the one downtown) is the best....she would be happy to assist you with reservations. She's done ours for years.

Rumba right behind the Renissance Hotel is wonderful and they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
