Divi AI ?

Hi,
We are staying at the Divi in August. My daughter wants to bring her computer. She doesn't even have it yet, it's on order. I told her no! What is the cost to use the internet at the Tam? What are the hours?
Also, what is the cost for the room safe and what kind & how big is it?
Thanks,
Rose
I really need a vacation!

Hi Rose,
we stayed at the DIVI last year and had a great time. We always bring our laptop, to down load our picture, lookup activities, etc. It's a good tool to have and I'm sure she will use it a lot. Just get the week price, it works out to a little over 12.00 per day. It's wireless in the lobby and I forget what was in the room.
The safe is free and did fit our laptop an older dell 800 (not wide screen). it holds a little over a square foot.

I thought the Divi charged $2/day for the safe. Has that changed?

Leave the PC home, have a real vacation!

Divi safe charge is indeed $2/day - big enough for passports, wallets, money, etc.

Too small to stuff a towel into.

pc insurance, safe and charges

I would still bring my pc. If your worried about security and it not fitting into the safe call you home/apartment insurance company and have them add it to the policy if it's not all ready, this way if the worse were to happen your covered. Now you can relax , your daughter can play and life in Aruba is great.

Also there is a 2.00/day charge. There is/was a single 9.00 YMCA charge but if say you don't want to donate to YMCA they will credit it at the end. I am holding last years final bill and they credited the safe charge also.

I left happy, that's all I know..

nobody has the right to tell you what to bring or not bring in order to have a real vacation.
you are on vacation, do what you want when you want!!!
i am sure if it does not fit in the safe, DIVI front desk will have a place for you to secure it. have you seen the laptop locks? kind of like a bike lock. check it out at ebay or best buy..

Thanks Guys,
I'm hoping to leave it home. I just got the e-mail that it has been shipped. We are on vacation and I hope my girls will just sit back and relax for a change. They 12 & 15 and very active. Between school, softball, marching band (the older one) & they both are competitive swimmers(that season is from Sept. to April and then some) I would like them to just chill for a change .
If necessary is there an internet room where you pay to use the computer to check e-mail and send e-mails? I know in Mexico there was and you know what they never used it.
We have 30 days and a wake up! Can't wait. This is our first trip to the Divi. We have stayed at the Occidental 3x in the past (prior to renovations). The last 3 years we were in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Can't wait to experience the Divi.
Thanks all,
Rose

Tell the girls to use the computer/internet at the call store in the alhambra casino mall (behind casino) open only at night. new hours at mon-sat. 3 pm to 10 pm. closed on sunday. I was just there yesterday. one hour internet is only $5.00. no refunds in unused time. calls home to USA and Canada are 25 cents per minute/partial minute. Rosita accepts all tips gladly. While we are on the subject, the cyber internet cafe downtown in the royal plaza mall has closed it's doors. Internet at Tamarijn is $5.00 for 20 minutes. see pix of divi and tamarijn at www.geocities.com/THEFEEL2002

We just returned from a great vacation at the Divi. My husband brought the laptop and the safes were so small it wouldnt fit inside (not even close) so we just hid it really well in the room. I will say there was 2 room break ins while we were there and some punk kids (there were 30 HS grads staying at the divi) shut off the power to our casita building. Not happy to wake at 3am with no AC or lights and the front desk informed me that maintenance would be there until late morning. Luckily they realized it was the kids in the breaker box and security fixed the problem. I will say security was EVERYWHERE. Every time you turned around there was a security person!! They had a lot of problems the week we were there but all in all we felt pretty safe and felt our belongings were safe. Please dont leave your door unlocked ( I know that sounds like common sense but security told us that people do leave their sliders open when they are as close to beach as we were so they could just run in and out. Casita room 347 was a great room pretty much right on the beach! If we went to Divi again we would request that room)

Back to the laptop--it was 29.95 for 3 days. We liked having it to check and see what was happening at home and my hubby likes to keep up with work email so he doesnt get slammed with literally a thousand emails the day he gets back. We would bring it there again if we returned.

Have a great trip!

oops wrong safe

My first post was wrong, my pc did not fit the safe I was remembering the safe at the Westin. I will still pay the weekly charge for wifi, it's convenient, we get to keep in touch with home and work. Do I like the fact that we pay no.. I think it should be included but I would look like a smurf if I held my breath for that.

We stayed in the Vista 1, 2nd floor. facing east, a million dollar view.
