Divi Aruba Phoenix construction update

We have a confirmed time share for 07/07-7/14 at Divi Aruba Phoenix. Received letter from RCI stating that construction of pool and new units will be in progress until 09/2007. We have been given the option of changing to Divi Village Golf and Beach Resort. We are unsure of making the change as DAP is on the beach. Trying to get an actual update on construction and or disruption onsite prior to making a location change. Any feedback greatly apreciated.

Last time I looked - Sunday - they are under construction, just does not seem to going fast enough to have everything ready for September. But I could be mistaken, let me make a few calls...
The Divi Village area is developing beautifully and although not on the beach, the environs are very nice.
By the way: Have you asked about the existing Phoenix building? Do they have maybe anything available there?

We have time share @ the Phoenix for the same week - my parents were in Aruba in February and said the construction is still ongoing, but it didn't interfere with their ability to relax and have good time. We've stayed at the Links before and although it is very nice, it is not directly on the beach - just a personal opinion. Maybe we'll see you in July!

We will be at the Divi Aruba Phoenix for out honeymoon in 4 weeks!! I had no idea about this pool construction!!! How bad is it? Is the pool totally off limits and a "no go"? Does it obstruct the viewing of the beach? I belive our suite was supposed to be facing the pool...not too happy to hear this news... Can anyone please provide some additional info for us??

Thank you!!

honeymooners,
it looks like the earlier posts relate to the new Phoenix development that is
being built. Units have been sold but the facility is still under construction.
I'm guessing that you are booked at the existing Phoenix. A "suite" implies you
will be in the existing villas section. Regardless, the work on the new development should not impact your visit (unless you booked into one of the
yet to be built units in the new developement (?) - with less than 4 weeks to go that would be awkward...)
Three images that attempt to convey what's where are at

Nothing fancy but hopefully they will provide you with some reassurance
that the honeymoon will be what what y'all have anticipated.

Thank you Deka!! I was more concerned about the pool construction that I had heard about, but I talked to the mgr the other day and she said the pools are operable and the construction shouldn't interfere... I'm trying to find some photos on this set up as well...

But thank you very much for you response and help!!

Divi Aruba Phoenix construction

We stayed at the Divi Golf Village in 3/07. We recently purchased timeshare at Divi Aruba Phoenix and were very interested to see the progress. It appears to be slow going and we were told that the new construction that was supposed to have been ready by 1/2008 will now not be ready until late 3/2008. This seems to be as a result of having to ship everything in.

We were pleased with the Divi Golf Village digs. They put us in a 1-BR Villa that was more roomy than our place will be on the beach. Very nicely appointed with several balconies and a hot tub. The foliage is established and lush and beautiful in this area of the Divi complex and that made up for not having the beach nearby. The beach is a nice walk away - and if you don't feel up to the walk across the street you can wave down the staff on their golf carts and they will happily take you to the beach. Pretty rough, huh? The beach is much more expansive at Divi Golf and has more wave action than at Divi Phoenix where the water is much more placid. If you're still dying for the Phoenix, you can jump on the bus and go there. Be sure and take your Divi Golf beach towel.

Question Aruba Phoenix Pictures

Does anyone have any pictures taken after April 9, 2007 showing what is happening at the Divi Aruba Phoenix Resort. I would like to see how far along they are. Tksa
