i'd hold off on buying.
phoenix is overpiced, but nice.
lacabana brc is having issues with assessments and room refits. lacabana is nice too.

if the unit at lacabana is from a resale, have they disclosed the assessment possibilty?

how many weeks are left on your divi purchase?

i own(ed) 8 weeks of lacabana brc............converted all to bluegreen points. i still use those points at lacabana brc.

yes, we have more points than brains.
sorry we converted? sometimes, mostly not though.

i am throwing a monkey wrench into the mix...........check out laquinta timeshare units AND/or Paradise Beach Villas and Casa Del mar and ABC.

Like everything else, it depends on what you are looking for- We like the Phoenix because it is a relatively small resort, and no matter where your room is you have ocean view(except in villas) and you are never far from the beach. La Cabana is too big for us- could be a long walk to beach, and can't gaurantee view. Beach is also much busier. I'm sure there are a lot more things to do at Cabana (food options, activities, etc), but we're not looking for activities, just relaxation.

I just stayed at LaCabana as a wedding gift from Grand parents. It was awful. Noisy, rooms are small, cleaning was awful. Dont do it.. .Maybe the Marriott or Hilton

I agree, unless you are buying weeks 51-52 then it is worth buying timeshare. I saved over a hundred thousand dollars with timeshare. Example. 14 nights at the marriott hotel on palm beach not the timeshares . 1129 a night for over 18 thousand dollars , plus 20 % tax . I take a 2 bedroom so double that . Over forty thousand for 2 weeks. Yes the place will sell out. I was staying at the Westin in grand cayman for 129 a night over labor day. I ask how much for the same room during the X mas holidays . 1500 a night with a 2 year waiting list.

Never stayed at the Divi so I cant compare dont even owna time share (dont think there worth the trouble) but I can tell you 14 years at the Lacabana somtimes twice a year and we still keep coming back. For us it is perfect. Lots of people, diffrent band at happy hour (beach side), good staff and smack dab in the middle of the island. Either way your desision goes,,, It's still Aruba

Red face phoenix vs lacabana

We recently went to Aruba. Our reservations were at LaCabana. We decided to change them because the place was terrible. The rooms were not very clean, there was an awful musty and mildew odor in the room, the resort is old. Bottom line, I would find something else. Try renting and a couple of times and then decide where you want to buy.

love Divi Phoenix

We have a timeshare at Mill Resort--low rise and not on the ocean....but we love the amenities at Phoenix...restaurant, beach and the quiet atmosphere. Lacabana is very busy and a lot going on, much more traffic etc. Depends what you like.....
