Re: The Divi and the Tam

Have been going to the Tam & Divi for 9 years now, that should tell you somthing. Both are clean, people extremely friendly, the food is OK [ Not gourmet style ] buffet style but always a lot to choose from. This year the beaches at these resorts are a couple of the best on the Island. Tide shifted after hurricane season and bought the beaches back. Bigger pool and less kids at the Divi.

Re: The Divi and the Tam

Good Day!!
Hubby and I have been to the Tam for the past 5 years and are planning to return next year. We go back because the people can't be beat, the food, who cares, we get the Mega so we can go back and forth between the Divi and Tam, the rooms are the old Holiday style, but who stays in the rooms all day. They are cleaned each day, the staff will bring you what you need when asked, and who can beat the walk out of your doorwall and you are right there, on the beach!! Depending on the time of the year you go, yes the kids can be a problem. The beach this year, just great!! Wide and very clean and white. The pool area at the Tam's is smaller, but I'm a salt water person, I can swim in a pool at home. The only thing I don't enjoy about the stay is no coffee pots in rooms. I do bring my own with no problems. The king bed rooms at the Tam are nice, but the bathroom are a bit smaller. Hope this helps you out. Enjoy!!

Re: The Divi and the Tam

Hi,

We are also repeat visitors to the Divi and have been staying every year for the past 10 years. The Divi has the BEST beach of all the resorts hands down! This year, there is even more beach than in past years..even the Tam has a beach this year!

We try to stay in any of the rooms on the bottom floor in the Vista II building, but any of the rooms nearest the beach in the Vista I building (beachside NOT poolside) are just as nice and allow for good access to the beach. There maybe a map of the property on the Divi website. If not, check out the different websites.

This past visit, we stayed in the suite, room 423 - the last room nearest the beach in the Vista II building.

(Please be aware that although all the rooms were renovated within the past 1 1/2 years in the Vista II building, there has been an ongoing problem with the 2nd floor pipes leaking into the walls of some of the 1st floor rooms. Management is aware of the problem, but they may still rent out the these rooms for the week. If you don't mind, then this should not be a problem for you).

The breakfasts are the best..fresh omelets, poached eggs, french toast, cereals, muffins, croissants, yogurt, fruits, etc.
The lunches (we usually skipped) are okay. Maybe it's because we have gone there for so many years, but we found that the menu was pretty boring. But, the freshly made pizza and sandwiches at the pizza bar looked great.

Both the restaurants at the Divi and at the Tam are ok for dinner (be sure to make reservations).

Although the resort is AI, we have discovered so many great restaurantsin Aruba over the years that we decided to go out to eat dinner almost every night.

Some of our favorites include, The Driftwood, Gasparitos, PagoPago(Wyndham), Pelicans Nest (near the Holiday Inn), The Sunset Grille (Radison), the Pirate's Nest (the Bucuti), the Calypso (next door to the Divi at the Casa Del Mar), the Italian testaurant at the California Lighthouse and Madame Jannette's (the portions are almost too big).

The people are wonderful, the beach is great and the weather is fantastic. You will have a wonderful time! Enjoy!
