Do not fly SONG to Aruba

WE left jfk on July 31, one hour late. They claimed ther was some paper work problems. We get up to 3000 ft ,and they tell us that the brakes are to hot and they have to drop the landing gear to cool things off. This is very nice. The Tv on the plane cut out about ten mins later. On the return flight, We were late leaving the gate because ATC lost the departure paper work. The TV did not work at all. They started serving refresments after one and half hrs. We get back to JFK,no gate to park, and then we waite 57 mins for the lugage.I am going back in Febuary on American Airlines

Re: Do not fly SONG to Aruba

Okay, let me get this straight...nobody should fly Song because of one bad experience??? I have flown Song between Boston and Florida and would choose that airline every time. Our flights leave on time, the TV worked throughout the flights, and refreshments, limited as they are, were served on time. The leather seats and extra leg room on Song made the flights much more comfortable than on most other airlines.

So, there you have it...the universe is back in balance.

Re: Do not fly SONG to Aruba

My daughter and her husband and child were on the same flight. One problem seemed to be that this is Song's first international flight. (Song took this route over from Delta, just one week earlier on July 23.) Since no one could curb check luggage or check in on line they were in no position to check in and handle a full plane with just 2 gate agents. They changed the flight number and did not let passengers have originally assigned seats...no way to defend Song in this case based on experience flying them domestically...they have a lot of kinks to work out in their international service.

Re: Do not fly SONG to Aruba

We're flying Detla in December and I chose them over A/A because JFK A/A is redoing their parking lot so no-one can pick you up inside unless they park in a different terminal..... TRUST ME JFK A/A is a nightmare. NOT WORTH the headache....Adds almost an hour to your pickup.... Also better prices on Delta and Continential

Re: Do not fly SONG to Aruba

Hey Bill my wife had problems flying out of LGA NYC to Fla and her TV didnt work and they screwed up the paper work. Her flight was delayed for 1 1/2 hours because of that. Ill give them a try the next time I go to Fla but if they mess things up that time, they are done in my book.

Re: Do not fly SONG to Aruba

I have flown Song 3 times, each time the flight was on time. The flight attendents were good and funny. My TV screen, not only worked, but was large and had a great picture.
Just because of one bad flight you don't say never again.

If I didn't fly on an airline after a bad flight I would have run out of airlines.
