I'm excited to be getting a passport and it should be here soon. My friends and I used to drive to Canada all of the time, mostly windsor and toronto. As we lived in north ohio it was only a quick jaunt away. However, we haven't went after the new laws, so maybe again sometime soon. My hubby and I only ordered the book though.

Does anyone know how long the time frame is approximately for time of application to receiving your passport?

I am thinking 4-6 weeks at the most. I just mailed my renewal and received acknowledgment within 2 days that it had been received.

Took me just under 7 weeks to get my new one. The first 3 weeks was for me to accept that the new passport photo was actually me 10 years older!

The other 4 weeks was the actual time it took to get the new passport from the time I mailed in the application.

We have all of our passports scanned and uploaded on a cloud server called Dropbox. I can use any computer or Ipad etc and log into my dropbox account and access all of my files. Dropbox is free!

We do not get the passport card, no need to spend the extra cash (unitl I lose the passport, then wish I did), lol.
