Does Holiday Inn have renovated rooms?

Hi,

I know that the Holiday Inn has recently renovated the pool and lobby. Have the guest rooms been renovated as well? Can anyone who has stayed there give me some insight as to how it is to stay here? We are not looking for all inclusive.

We have been to Aruba once for a week's stay two years ago (stayed at the Divi) and once for the day on a cruise last month. I remembered how much I love Aruba and since the HI is fairly inexpensive we figured we could sneak another trip in. I'm not expecting it to be the Radisson/Hyatt/Marriott but we just got off the cruise and have another 25th anniversary trip booked for Nov. so it's sort of an extra bonus.

Would LaCabana be better? We have no children traveling with us and aren't interested in all inclusive.

Thanks!

Re: Does Holiday Inn have renovated rooms?

nancy They painted the Curacao Tower in the fall. I do not know the extent of the renovations there. The rooms though are functional with all necessary amenities (In room safe, refrigerator, coffee service, iron, hair dryer. Also there are many restaurants of every type within walking distance. There is every thing from Subway and Duncan Donuts to two rib places and steak places. Holiday Inn also has a breakfast plan with a buffet that has everything you could want Jerry

Re: Does Holiday Inn have renovated rooms?

Hi Nancy! Even though the Holiday Inn is 30 plus years old, in my opinion, they have the greatest beach. It's very expansive and quite lovely. The rooms are outdated, but the bathrooms are what need a total refurbishing. You're only in them to shower and sleep. The rooms are clean and very spacious with in-room safe, mini fridge, coffee pot, hair dryer, slider which opens to a decent sized balcony. It's definitely not the Hyatt or the Radisson, but it will definitely suffice. You're wise in not choosing an all-inclusive plan, as the restaurants in Aruba are fabulous!! El Gaucho, Madame Jeannette's, Azull (at the Wyndham) dine on the beach and take in the gorgeous sunset. Also at the Wyndham, Pago Pago and Blossoms. Another great outdoor dining experience, on the beach, is the Flying Fishbone. The list goes on and on. Make sure you visit Baby Beach, the Natural Pool and and Natural Bridge -- all too awesome to miss! I was a travel agent up until a year and a half ago, and I never had a client that was disappointed with the HI. If you are prepared in advance that this is not a 4 or 5 star resort, you will be fine. The value for this hotel is fantastic. When either you, or your travel consultant, books this for you, ask for accommodations in either the Aruba or Bonaire Towers. The beach is definitely much nicer than it is in front of the Curacao Tower, and not as far of a walk. Go and enjoy -- you absolutely cannot go wrong for the price!!
