Dollar versus Aruban Currency
Hi- We are leaving for our honeymoon tomorrow and I have read here that you can use US dollars in Aruba. Do you lose out by doing that? Is it better to get money from the ATM in Aruba? I know with most countries, you pay much more to use dollars, but if this isn't the case then we'll use cash.
Also, it seems like credit is widely accepted. Is that true? Thanks! You guys are great. I've been lurking and reading a lot. Jenny (leaving tomorrow!) |

U.S. dollar is accepted everwhere in Aruba. Some credit cards (including ours as of Feb. this year) are charging a foreign transaction fee, even though the charges are in U.S. dollar.
