Can anyone advise if the Dutch Village is walking distance to the supermarket, 1/2 mile is fine with us, I don't mean less than 30 seconds!!
Just debating whether to get a car right from the start for grocery shopping or whether we'll be able to manage on foot. We prefer walking generally.

You'll have your choice of several large grocery stores almost right across the street.

The grocery store is approx. a 5 minute walk from Dutch Village. It is closed on Sunday.

If you like to walk, you will have no problem. It is not a long walk to the grocery stores.

I like to rent a car, because I am a typical American I need my wheels and having a car in Aruba is very handy.

I drive everywhere in Aruba, I go to the stores downtown, up to the Lighthouse and the wilderness area and to St Nicholas. I like driving to the restaurants and with all respects the bus service stinks.

The supermarkets are across the street. You can walk take something with wheels to carry the food back. I own at Dutch Village and have walked it several times.

It is a very short distance that you can walk.

Dutch village in on the Tamarijn site and is about a 5 minute walk from there.choose of 3 big supermarkets.

0.5Km (0.3mi) to Hong King. Super Food is next to Hong King as is Certified Mega Mall.
Ling & Sons is behind Hong King, about another 1/4 mi or less.

You can walk it. Many do. It can be a trek if returning with several plastic bags of food stuffs.

Often, people walk to the store(s) & take a cab back. There is a cab waiting lane at Ling & Sons. Typically, there is at least one cab there.

Can tell the cabs readily. On roof (a few on front dash) you'll see the "taxi" bubble light. Also tell by the lic. plate. Easy to tell.

I think it will take 15 minutes walking all together to the three biggest grocery stores
have a nice holiday

They are within walking distance.
