Unfortunately no. We did love the beach bar at the AM.... except for the flies...!

You will not regret making this change. Mark my words. We stayed at the Amsterdam Manor the last time we were in AUA and everything about it was divine. Eagle is peaceful. Palm is...not (and that's taking nothing away from Palm).

For your enjoyment, I dug up a story I told on the day I joined the forum. This is from an old thread and I just copied it from there for ease of access.

Now, a funny anecdote. When we went on our honeymoon, we stayed at the Amsterdam Manor which is right on Eagle Beach. We would always see the same people on our area of Eagle, including one woman who preferred to swim and sunbathe topless. Because I'm an immature adult, I took to calling this woman "boob lady" (please don't ban me on my first day, LOL). So we're at the beach one day, and I guess a cruise ship had just come in because a family of about 15 or 16 people (no joke) decided they were going to descend on Eagle like a plague of locusts in the early afternoon and interrupt my sun-nap (actually, I think I may have been reading). They were a party level of loud, and were disrupting EVERYONE. Kids running around, tossing wet sand at each other, all that jazz. My wife and I had just about had it when one of us got up to go to the bar (hint: wasn't her), and sure enough, here comes my savior across the street. She plopped down with the people she was with, the top came off, and that family was gone faster than you can say Balashi.

Strangely enough, we'll be those cruise ship people at Eagle Beach next April. We won't act like buffoons, though.

I adore the AM Beach Bar. Absolutely adore it. No flies when we were there, but we travel in the off-season so it could be just a timing difference.

We were off season too. First week of last July and we were told the fly situation was unusual..... but since I'm not willing to take a chance we're moving to Manchebo this year. Love the Palm Beach area..... but really love Eagle Beach for the relative quiet and lack of crowds. For me, the beach trumps all!

December 19 - January 2 at the Amsterdam Manor, if I had to count them, 2, maybe 3 flies in two weeks.

Don't remember.... think so.... I do remember that I couldn't get the progressive royal flush and not for lack of trying and really close opportunities.
