Re: ECONO CAR RENTAL
We always call ahead and use ECONO yearly. Suggestion: Put it all on a premium credit card it you can. A gold or platinum one. If you have an accident of any type the card maker will reimburse you. It takes time to get all the paper work in order but I had two claims in 18 yrs and both were paid 100%.
No Insurance for rental necessary.
This advise gets lengthy but I'll try explain briefly. If you hit, damage or whatever or get hit etc. you need to get an estimate from a repair shop. There are several legitimate ones. Then you need a full police report. Hitch: It takes two days to get all the proper info. & paper work together. More time if you have an occurence on the weekend. Having an incident on the last day or next to the last day of your vacation can certainly complicate all of this. I never had that occasion.
You will be required to put the cost of the estimate on your credit card. Pay everything concerning your rental with your card. Keep all receipts, get duplicates and present the costs to your card holder. It takes about 2 months to be reimbursed.
Call your card holder for individual circumstances and verify this info.
When renting, check the vehicle over 100%. Mags wheels etc. many have big gouges and severe knicks, have them noted.
Friends got charged $140.00 for a big gouge they never made. Most have Plastic covers but ck. anyway and note any defects. 95% of renters never had a problem but things happen. Lastly return vehicle with the same amt of gas. and as written here many times:
Make sure you are getting the amount of gas you are paying for. Do the conversion math!
Hope this helps some.
