emerald ring

Hello everyone. just a quick note I bought a emerald ring here last year and its been nothing but problems. Lost emerald a few weeks ago had that fixed and now lost tow diamonds. Thank god for insurance or this would cost me alot of money. The worst thing is my jewler said never buy in the islands unless its Little Switzerland, you know I bought a ring there and no problems. Anyway anyone else have problems here. The worst thing is my grandfather left me money and this is what I bought with it.....

(Little Europe) watch out for this place...

Thanks
Melissa

Re: emerald ring

Hi Melissa,

My wife and I have enjoyed Aruba for the last 18 years. We have become friends with Roger he owns Majesty Jewlers right behind the mall in downtown. Great prices and great quality. Stop in and see him tell him Jerry sent you.
E-mail me for more info
thanks

Re: emerald ring

Oh Melissa - that's really too bad about the ring and the fact that it was a special remembrance from your grandfather. Hopefully now that you have had it fixed, it will be OK. Cheryl

Re: emerald ring

sorry you had problems but there are many great outlets for gems and watches beside Littl. Sw.

Try Shivas or Ram'Bijou jewelers next time. There are very honest and dependable. Been going there for yrs. now.
You'll get more great recommendations here.

Re: emerald ring

We always shop at Columbia Emeralds and they guarantee everything. We returned a ring after 5 years (with the Receipt) and they replaced the stone. Vince Daniels

Re: emerald ring

Hi Melissa,
That is awefull. I purchased 2 emerald and dia. rings in Aruba 2 years ago from Sean Paul Jewelers. I spent quite a bit on them since I wanted 2 identical rings. One ring did have to be serviced here in the states and Sean jewelers would have paid me the $35 had I sent them the invoice. Other than that I have not had any problems. The emeralds I purchased are absolutely beautiful and I receive compliments all the time. I have only seen one emerald here in the states that even compares to the ones I purchased in Aruba.

Just my 2 cents worth. Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience.

Melissa

Re: emerald ring

I also have bought Emeralds in "Aruba"- always bought a Chevaz (sp.) bought $500.00 earrings...$500.00 braclete with a $500.00 ring to match the other two...I lost one of the diamonds out of the ring...three times and the first two times they did replace it..then last year they gave me a "really hard time", etc..embarrassed me to death in front of everyone...so they charged me to put in another stone (remind you- these were tiny-winy pieces of emerald for a "Channel style ring with tiny diamonds...after the hard time and me paying...I left the store and within 10 minutes- while at Little Switzerald the damn thing came out again..the salesgirl saw it on her counter...I marched back in and they replaced it again....I WILL NEVER, EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THAT STORE AGAIN AND TELL ALL OUR FRIENDS AT THE ABC NOT TO BUY THERE..I HAVE HOWEVER STARTED BUYING AT COLUMBIAN EMERALDS. IN ARUBA..THEY ARE REPUTABLE AND ON MANY ISLANDS....CAME BACK TO THE STATES AND HAD THEM APPRAISED AND I GOT A GOOD QUALITY EMERALD...SO BEWARE!!! You know wht they say- if it seems to good to be true..that it isn't GOOD!!!!!

Re: emerald ring

My mother bought a double saphire and diamond ring at Kenro Jewlers at La Cabana. She got it in september it appraised for double and a half what she paid for it. There is also a store downtown. We would go there since we would never stay at La Cabana again.

Re: emerald ring

I bought a beautiful tanzanite and diamond tennis bracelet on my honeymoon, and 3 months later, two of the tanzanites fell out. God knows where they went, but I was very disappointed to say the least. I got it at Noble Jewelers. They had said that they have a shop in NYC and I could send it for repair, but the repair was very expensive. I bought the bracelet for $800. They wanted $200.00 for the repair and replacement of the stones. No thanks. I've just learned my lesson, I guess. I also heard since my purchase, that Little Switzerland was the place to shop. I wish I had known that 5 years ago!
