Emergency # left for relatives

Is the country code for Aruba 011? The hotel lists their # as 297-58-63600 (Holiday Inn). Do you just dial 1-011-297-58-63600 to get through to the hotel? I would like to leave the # in case of emergency. Thanks,

Re: Emergency # left for relatives

011 is the access code to get out of the US to dial internationally and 297 is the country code

Cheryl.

Another good idea is to get a cell phone there on the island. It runs about 50.00 and you get 45 free minutes to US. That way you can get any emergency calls right to the phone and the caller will pay to call you. We used it last year and it worked great we called home daily and it was so much cheaper than calling with a calling card, and you can get the phone delivered to your hotel, when you get there and you can have the number provided to you BEFORE you leave so everyone will have it.Enjoy the trip!

Re: Emergency # left for relatives

Cheryl....Like sunny has said we rented a cell phone...we got ours right at the airport..www.arubafastphones.com
We had the number emailed to us before we even left home...Why we rented was if ( heaven forbid ) we got an emergency call..we may not get that messsage for ( hours )..where as when my Son phoned me with some urgent news about our company..I got the call direct..it took 5min. and Just that call saved me thousands of dollars...So I could come back to Aruba. Ha

For us...It is the only way to fly.Best of Luck in your travels<BigPapa>

Re: Emergency # left for relatives

Suggestion; Since its terribly expensive to phone out of Aruba,(i.e., from hotels,, 6 bucks a minute), what we do for our sitter, is get them a phone card via Sams Club,, where its 3.47 cents per unit. we put several hundred minutes/units,,, on the card before we leave,(which is cheap). Each call to Aruba is about 6 units, but that still makes it only about a quarter a minute, and we have our sitter phone us every other day, or when needed. This way, We can easily afford to talk with the kids, and Grannie, and it doesnt cost an arm and a leg, then you have your money left for Vacation fun..

After several trips with frustration about lack of good communication with home/, this works very well for us, and the family.. Good luck.
