emphysema

My husband has copd-emphysema. We are booked for October, our first visit to Aruba. Does anyone know how the weather there effects people with copd? Thanks!

He will react the same as he does anywhere with high temperatures just shy of 90 F. and humidity averaging 70%.

Labco Medical can offer oxygen cylinders if they are needed http://www.hospitalsoup.com/listing/...mecare-service

I'd recommend your asking his doctor.

Thanks. Of course we asked his doctor...but i was hoping to here from someone that has copd, and what their experience is when visiting the island. He is not on oxygen, yet, and hopefully will not be on it come October!

Truly, I would consider how he feels when he is home under the same conditions- high heat and humidity. As always the saving grace are the tradewinds, but still expect heat index upwards to 100 F.

Thanks Arubalisa. I so hope that we will be able to make the trip. I am cautiously excited about planning the trip. October seems so far away, and so much can happen between now and then. I did purchase trip insurance just in case we can't make it. I was hoping that someone would say 'oh the weather made my copd less noticiable, wishful thinking I guess!
