Entry Requirements

Does anyone know if US citizens really have to bring three months worth of bank statements or pay stubs and a copy of the hotel reservation just to get in the country?
It appears that way on this site, but I just want to be sure. Anything else we need besides the above and a passport?

Thanks!

Re: Entry Requirements

ENTRY/EXIT REQUIREMENTS: A valid U.S. passport, or U.S. birth certificate (original or a certified copy) or Certificate of Naturalization accompanied by a valid photo identification must be presented. While a U.S. passport is not mandatory, it is recommended since it is a more readily recognized form of positive proof of citizenship. No visa is required for stays up to three months, but tourists may be asked to show onward/return tickets and proof of sufficient funds for their stay. The length of stay actually authorized may be based on the ability to show sufficient funds. U.S. citizens must obtain residency and/or work permits for long term stays (e.g. for work or study). Aruba 's immigration office will advise on the types of documents required to obtain these permits. Failure to obtain proper permits may result in arrest and/or deportation. Airline passengers are subject to departure taxes for international and inter-island travel.

Bring a picture ID (such as a drivers license) and a birth certificate with a RAISED SEAL on it. That's all. (Or a passport)

Re: Entry Requirements

Pooch, If you're not traveling with a passport(s), make certain that your birth certicifacte(s) have the RAISED SEAL. (Copies are NOT accepted. The only other necessary item is your driver's license for photo I.D. We were there for 3 weeks last September -- never heard of bringing anything else. Have a wonderful vacation!!!

Re: Entry Requirements

I agree with the above. I think you might be misunderstanding some of the requirements that are for people who are looking to purchase property. That does require proof that you are capable to not ever having to depend on the Arubian government for support.

Never heard that

>>> "bring three months worth of bank statements or pay stubs and a copy of the hotel reservation just to get in the country"
---- Never heard that but Aruba Immigrations does want to know where you are staying. They do not want tourist to just bum around or camp around the island. Need to be staying at some hotel, timeshare, or private residence. In 16 trips never been asked to show anything besides Passport and fill out form as to where staying.

Re: Entry Requirements

Perhaps the financial statements would be necessary for a long-term stay (ability to show sufficient funds). For a vacation stay, however, we carry a passport and drivers license...definitely no financial statements. Oh, and by the way, I always carry reservation confirmations with me (hotel, car rental, restaurant, activities, etc.), but this is more so to avoid any problems with my reservations.

Re: Entry Requirements

I understand that the US law is changing and going to require anyone leaving/ returning to have a passport. This law takes effect in six months.

Already got papers for new passport.
