My b/f has a felony on his record from about 8 years ago, is this going to be a problem going to aruba or coming back?

No it wont be for entering Aruba, whereas for re-entering the US depends on the conditions he was released.

Re: felon record, strange question

I don't suggest walking up the Aruba customs agent and announcing that fact. However, if he has a valid passport it should not be a problem. But to be on the safe side, you might want to check with his parole officer.

Re: felon record, strange question

Strange as you say, that you put this problem on the internet so to speak, opening the door to you to anything in the way of answers.

You might of went to the proper agencies and found your answer in private. Your boyfriend may have committed a felony that has circumstances indicating he may not be a person of devious character that a convicted felon shoulders. Therefore
unless it is absolutely necessary and legally mandatory, keep your private business...private. You'll be much better off in the long end.
ex: I once knew a great person who was accused of rape. He was proven without any doubt of his innocence. It was an absolute case of mistaken identity. Because the case was made public, even though he was totally innocent he was viewed by some neighbors as a criminal and he had to move out of state due to pressure and whispered accusations from neighboring children infecting his children.

Seek proper authorities concerning your circumstance.
The best of luck to you...j.h.

Have him get a Passport

Don't know that one. Have him go get a Passport.
http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html
That site has all the info about International Travel and that Passports will be required in 2006. Have him get a Passport. If he has that should be OK in 2005.
