Re: first timers

Great snorkeling (if you bring your own equipment makes it easier) there are places if you just pull over on the street even. If you like snorkeling go to Baby Beach you will be completely amazed of the thousands of small and large fish. If you bring bread you can feed them right out of your hand. Good golf and great restuarants.

Enjoy you will be back!!!

Re: first timers

Bring extra cash to buy a timeshare you will be coming back!!!!

Use plenty of sunscreen you burn easy in the sun better safe than sorry wouldn't want to burn your first day and be miserable for the rest of the trip.

Relax enjoy and eat good

Re: first timers

I've been to Aruba 5 times and I'm going again in mid May. I do not know your interest but I can say go to the help desk soon after you arrive in your room reason being some of the activities have sch days for certain things. If you are staying at a high rise or low the hotel lobby has everything there for you. I like the boat rides. Hint say your out on the beach and you see something you want to do you don't have to go back to the hotel all the time you will see like barges on the sand like a bar/food hut they can book things for you. when you arrive you will understand what I'm saying. The Rennaisance hotel in town has a good shows@cystal palace theatre "let's go latin" excellent. also
I like the booze cruise it's not as bad as it sounds just all you can drink for 2 hr $35 ea dancing if you want. Watch the sun go down. You must do the De Palm bus tour of the island. It's interesting.

Hint There is a superb Grocery store you can take a bus for $2 round trip up and down the strip. Buy your liquor there rather at a mall store you'll save alot of money cause our money is 77cents more.

Tell me what's your interest so I will give hints on what you want to know.

Re: first timers

whatever you choose to do you will have a really good time in aruba.
if you want more to do than getting a tan and swimming.
rent a car for a day or two and take a tour around the island. it's worth every $.driving in aruba is easy, no worries.
my family and i visited aruba for the first time last year and we rented a car for one day and we drove around the island it was really an adventure. i had never driven a jeep before but it was easy and a lot of fun.we saved some for our next trip to aruba. we are going back in december then we will see some more of the island.
you can't help but falling in love with aruba and the people.
have fun

Re: first timers

We are really interested in seeing some of the real Aruba as well as the tourist areas, we love eating out and would really like to have a couple of nice evening were we can get dressed up and enjoy good food and wine. my partners love to snorkel so we will be heading to baby beach i think. i really enjoy going out dancing the crusies sound great too. We're staying at the HI which i understand is quite basic but good, are we quite close to things or not? What are we best to do about currency stick to uS Dollars or look into getting Florin? To be avle to DRive over there do we need anything other than passport and driving licence? we're from UK so not sure if there is anything else we need.

I really can't wait now getting sooo excited !!!

Re: first timers

Definitely do the snorkeling trip with 3 stops on the Midushi sailing ship. It is a beautiful ship and the crew are absolutely wonderful and fun people. They will take you out to see the shipwreck too. A wonderful meal was provided by LeDome restaurant and served to all on board with unlimited drinks, including liquor, beer, wine etc. They even serve mimosas and bloody marys on the way to the first stop. They do provide the snorkel equipment with instructions, life vests and even individually packaged new mouthpieces. They have wonderful music and a rope swing which some on board did.Getting into and out of the water is not a problem because they have a wonderful sturdy large ladder on the ship. This trip was 59.00 per person from 9:30-2:30 and was well worth it. Go and have fun!
