typically any week in may is a favorite week for us there.
it is usually quieter and begins the real slowdown til sumer months add more guests/tourists.
we arrive on the 23 and expect it to be very crowded til the 27th and then much more subdued into may.

busy is a subjective word.
there will still be people on island
you will still have to make reservations at favorite restaurants

we love may on aruba we also love september and october

We have usually gone the second week in May. We've never had to make dinner reservations and always gotten a spot on the beaches away from the hotel strip. May is our favorite time to go.

Thanks for info. I am betting that a crowded day in Aruba is better than a quiet day at home!!! We are so looking forward to our first visit. I am willing to bet that before we go home we will be planning another visit with the kids. Like most of you, I bet we will want to visit every year there after.....

Oh this is such great news...I read on Tripadvisor that the sun bed thieves operate as early as 6am in Aruba.....the main reason we go nowhere near Europe sunshine anymore because the Germans invade the beachs en masse every day....some things just don't change eh?

So pleased it will be quiet...a holiday should be about getting up at dawn to ensure a sun bed is availabe for the day.

Ahhhhhhhh can't wait for that first cocktail or shooter at sunset!

We also go the 2nd week of May every year and we love that time. Locals have told us that is the best time too. The weather is wonderful, of course, and while there are people around we have never had to wait for a pool chair. We usually do not go to the pool until about 11 am! Also, we have walked into many of the famous restaurants without reservations and been sat right down. BUT, I have been told that you should make reservations at the Lighthouse and Madam Jeannettes any time of year though.

We have been going every May for the past 5 years and love that time. It is not overly crowded and we have been to Madame J.'s & Mirandi's without reservations. Looking forward to our May 15 - 25 th. vacation at the Marriott Ocean club.

I'm glad to hear good things about May. I booked my trip before too much research. It may be crowded during the Soul Beach week for Memorial day weekend, but it sounds nice as I sit in my cubical at work right now

I'll be at the Renn on the 19th!

Aruba...I'd say we're a little more than slightly hooked! We'll be back as soon as possible

Our yearly trip is the last week of April and first week of May. We definitely notice a big difference in the second week.

Of course, the island always seems to sink a little when multiple cruise ships are in town!

We are from NH and the last week of April is school vacation week so there are quite a lot of people from there.

April/May in Aruba - ahhh
