Re: flight to Aruba
Margarete,
In general, getting to Aruba using the flights to Caracas and then Aruba are less expensive if the origin is Europe. I know Lufthanse had a great deal if you do that out of Germany. There aren't any savings to make it worth while to do the Caracas connection if comming out of USA. Aside from it not being cheaper, you might be faced with an overnight stay - at best $150+ (hotel taxi food etc). Forget boat or ferry rides to Aruba. YOu really do not want to explore that unless your sense of adventure is at its highest peak at this point in your life.
I just called Tango Tours Tours for you (local company I use) and they say that the best thing to do is fly out of Los Angeles with American Airlines departing at 6:35 AM to Miami arriving at 3PM and then take a flight with same airline that departs at 4:30 PM and arrives at 7.15PM total cost should be around Afl. 1,599 including all taxes etc. Divide that amount by 1.8 and it should give you a close cost per person flying coach. Depending on the flights and dates you choose, you might be able to shave of an extra $50 or more.
HOpe that helps you out a bit.
Charles
