    this forum and some randomness

I know lots of us say that this forum is a huge connection and "fix" for Aruba.
That being said, I am so down that we still have 6+ months to wait.

And..i am more fortunate than many as we are retired and live in the warm South.
How the heck are all of you, especially those in New England and the Upper Midwest handling missing Aruba and your frigid weather?

It'll be before you know it, Andrea. I'm in MA and we're fortunate it's been a fairly mild winter. Yesterday was in the 50s and right now the wind is blowing like crazy. But there's no snow on the ground and that's a good thing.

I'd be missing Aruba too but we just got back last month. The tan's still visible.

We just concentrate on how wonderful Aruba is and count down the days until time to visit again. I have 4 months to go. We have not had a bad winter where I live in Ohio so I cannot complain. It would be nice to be in Florida where it is warmer.

My daughter texted me this morning asking "Why do we live here?" So depressing!

I personally am sick of winter and really would love to move somewhere warm. Doing ok, hubby and I still get out and walk every day. Last weekend was bitter cold and wind chills, we actually walked 2x and made it fun by bundling up like Eskimos. I am sure people were looking out of their windows thinking we were crazy but it made us feel good. Saw a robin yesterday we always write on our calendar 1st spotting which is earlier than last year, always a good sign. Of course we are getting 1-3 inches of snow tomorrow morning so can't put my shovel away just yet. Watching my Red Sox spring training games on the weekends is helping. Looking forward to our next Aruba trip but still trying to get rid of those extra lbs. I put on with one too many frozen cocktails, this year more beer full of ice for sure. Hopefully starting a part time job next week just waiting for final background check and fingerprinting process to start. So all in all doing ok as we are officially 11 days from spring and moving clocks ahead this weekend will help with longer days of sunshine! Enjoying reading everyone's trip reports while counting down to October.

Basically the same as my New England friends above. Anticipated snow tomorrow and possibly a bigger storm Tuesday aren't helping much, but at least at this time of year, you get some nice days also and all and all, not a bad winter. This is the first time we have ever booked a trip so far out. We took advantage of the Divi Cyber Monday sale!! Usually we go in March (for St. Patrick's Day) but since boyfriend's daughter came to live with him 4 years ago, Aruba has been out of the question. It's just too pricey for flights out of Boston during school vacation weeks. But she is off to college in September so....we're off to Aruba in October. We thought we'd let her get settled in before we go!! Actually it's 7 months from tomorrow - not that I'm counting!!!! Although I hate to wish my life away at this point in my life, I can't wait!!!! As I keep saying, to BF, the time will go fast with the summer coming. This forum and trip reports are what keep me going - along with my 3-4 times daily checking out the webcams!! Anxiously waiting for Jet Blue to drop their prices!! If not, have my eye on some Delta connecting that have decent pricing....ahhhh, the pricing game!! Keep the reports and posts coming everyone!!
Hopefully we'll be back in Spring 2018

We have a quick getaway next month to get some beach time and it's like it doesn't even count and we are already looking past it to Aruba in November. I haven't checked any restraurants or things to do or anything for next month.

This has been a mild winter in the DC area. Lots of 60-70 degrees in February and almost no measurable snow. I can't complain too much this year.

Hey Andrea .....well, living here in western PA it has been a pretty great winter...2 years in a row (what is going on...global warming ???), and as some of the folks above have mentioned, we are due for a snow storm tomorrow and then again Tuesday. I'm sure it won't last long, just enough to make one miserable looking out the window !!!
I am handling it by heading for Aruba the end of April (YAY!!!) and then again the usual 2-3 weeks in November.....might keep it to 2 wks and try to sneak down around August if I can figure out how get a cheap flight while the bills pile up !!!
Anyway, spring is around the corner and hopefully this summer will be like last year...!!!
