Our winter hasn't been too bad. We've been getting projects done around the house. Just signed this morning for a company to replace our porch windows and planning on putting our camp in NH on the market in May. That should keep us busy! If not, we have a week booked in Vegas to break things up.

Winter has been easy and we returned 2 weeks ago but I am still missing Aruba big time! I actually think its getting harder and harder between our trips to be honest, and I go often. I think its because I hate my job and when I am away I don't think about it for a second. I need my official countdown. Andrea, is there anyway you can put June 27th for a countdown for me? Thanks as always.

Last few winters have been fairly mild and next to no snow (global warming?) As far as waiting for a trip to Aruba, we go to other places and love to travel about every couple of months (some old places and some new places). As much as I love Aruba, there is so much more to do and see in the world. We just got back from another trip to Mexico (been there 15+ times over the years) and are now planning (plotting) our next new adventure back to Europe. Love the planning of things to do and see! But of course.....ALWAYS look forward to an Aruba trip to see our friends and lounge on the beach.

Its great you have other places you enjoy going to visit. I am stuck in Aruba mode and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I personally know that IF I tried someplace new it would not make me happy and I would only compare it to Aruba so I dont try, lol.

I can relate to this. We've done other trips, but nothing really compares for me. Even the planning isn't as fun. We know what we like.

Your words are perfect. We know exactly what we like and anything else while it may be very nice won't measure up. I enjoy going back and seeing my friends and eating the food I know I will love. I am not the type of person to try some thing new just to try it...I am more- it its not broken don't try to fix it, lol.

I'm with Tracey and Jay.... every time DW suggests someplace else... I shudder.... Aruba is perfect and DW and I do enjoy it together. Nothing else matters to me for travel... mostly been there done that. I do enjoy an annual trip to Seattle to hook up with my baby brother and his family.
    Guess I'm just not multi-dimensional......

speaking for myself..........aruba sets the bar high.
every so often we will ponder a european or asian trip and it turns into a thumbs down.
been to ireland, switzerland, austria, italy...enjoyed ourselves, but in this stage of our lives we love the sun, the warmth, the people and CONVENIENCE of aruba.
being in florida, we are fortunate to get resident rates on cruises and last minute deals on cruises and quite often we do not even look at the itinerary as we do not care. although, this may we have an 8 day out of port canaveral that stops in aruba and bonaire which are great stops!

so, whatever "floats your boat" and aruba floats mine.
i just wish i were not so bummed that we are not so far away from halloween departure.

The weather here this winter(Oklahoma) has been really weird. We started out with low 50s to mid 40s in November and December but with a week in the 70s as well. Then it dropped to 11 for a low and 36 for a high for a week. Since then it has fluctuated between 35 and 80. Yes 80. We had 1 day at the end of January that set a record high of 80 for the month. Last week we had 2 days at 80+ and then dropped to 38 for a couple days. Yesterday it got up to 78 and last night dropped to 36. It is currently 42 and predicted to be 60 this afternoon. Tonight it is supposed to drop to 29 for the first freeze in over a month. We have not had any ice or snow this winter which is very unusual. It looks like I might need to mow my grass before the end of this month.

Everyone is different so it's really just a matter of if you like to "travel" or "vacation" - we like to do both.

I have too much wanderlust in me to only go to one place. No doubt that I will not take Aruba off of my list (been there 33 times if that's any indication - LOL!) but I also love the excitement of new places, meeting new people, having new experiences. We travel multiple times a year in the U.S. and other countries so we're always busy between work, other trips (both work and vacations trips) and activities that I'm not thinking about the next Aruba trip until it's time to pack the night before the flight.
