    Frozen Foods

Hi, has anyone packed frozen cold cuts in their luggage to bring to Aruba? I'm wondering if you can even freeze them.

I'm not sure about cold cuts, but I think they might be okay. Read here for a little insight: Bring from home or do FULL grocery shopping there?

    yes
    easy peasy
    freeze in 8 oz packages
    then wrap in newspaper
then put in soft sided cooler with an ice pack or 2 and into checked luggage.
american cheese does not freeze well. (crumbly when thawed)

read the thread that walt linked.

This is great! Just read the link which was so helpful. I'm curious, why wrap in newspaper? Good to know about the cheese. I'd rather not pack the cold cuts but I have picky eaters so it's worth it. Thanks everyone!

newspaper is a great insulator and keeps things frozen well.
my husband and son are huge milk drinkers.......
in the old days i would freeze milk and bring with us. (those were the days when the milk selection at the stores was not good....poor inventory)

I recently took down 120lbs of food in suit cases. Our travel time from home to there was 12 hours and the meat was still frozen.

I have taken blocks of those blocks of cheese by Cracker Barrel , frozen, in the little LLBean lunch boxes. Also thru in there American cheese and 1 lb of ham. All arrived perfectly. Cheese barely thawed. Arrived at hotel and threw them in frig in room. Enjoyed poolside at Haapy Hours.Got crackers at Hong King along with other munchies.
Also bring down 1 lb of Dunkin Donuts coffee and creamora
