Angry Getting fed up with terrible customer service here. . .

Time to vent a bit. . . I am almost at the point to pack it in here on the island and drop my house price and get out. This week I had the worst customer service from SETAR and ARUGAS and the CMB. Not only these three companies but a few others over the last 3 months. They are rude, they lie and they refuse to answer simple questions. They also seem to think they are doing you, the customer, a big big favor by doing their job. I have not looked for anything special, just some quick simple answers to questions and a little help trying to get something done in a reasonable time. NOT HAPPENING HERE IN ARUBA. . . . Even the bank caused me to cancel a credit card due to not offering an answer about their service.

I hate to say it, but Florida is looking better everyday. . . . .

Almost to the point of Tom and Stanley being the former Aruba Guys. . . .

I know this is not a happy happy posting so I will be surprised if it makes to the board. . . .

too bad that you are having issues with customer service.
it would be nice if you had a great contact person for each of those companies.

    florida is great.

and why do you think your posting would not make it to the board?

i am considering moving it to the "moving to aruba" category though.

Why should I have to get a contact person at any of these places to have people just do the job they get paid for. . . .

If anything, move it the "Moving FROM Aruba" category. . . .

i suggested that because sometimes folks may have to approach things differently in order to be served properly. it does not seem right to get poor customer service......but if moving from paradise is your only option, i suggest finding a contact person to maybe make it so you do not have to move.

i had a huge issue with disney last february. customer service people were not helpful and were actually horrendous. i put in a little effort and go myself a supervisor at customer service and she agreed to be my contact person.

I have to agree... They can't all be winners. And Florida definitely has its share of service issues. Sometimes I think these things are more pronounced in Aruba because the island is small.

If the level I'm dealing with cannot help me.... I always (politely) ask to speak to the next level...... Knowing a contact person for any service is a huge help!

There are no consumer rights in Aruba. Even if you buy something defective, the store will not take it back. They will tell you they will give you a credit. I bought what I wanted and didn't want a credit for something different. I even tried calling the bank (Aruba Bank) to have the charge reversed. The owner will "hide". Pricesmart is the only store that I have dealt with that has a no nonsense return policy.
Utilities are pretty much monopolies. Banks are a whole other story. It takes weeks to clear a US check when the money has been taken out of the US account in less than 24 hours. You spend hours waiting for a teller at the bank on certain days of the month.
Still can't beat the weather in Aruba. Florida is too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer, so I adjust.

Hey buddy, the first morning you would be scraping ice off your windshield in Florida, that's when Aruba would seem pretty sweet!!! I see ice many times in Ft. Myers Beach in Dec. I think Aruba is still the place to be. We just have to remember its a very laid back Island and they say: One Happy Island. For me, when a situation comes up in Aruba and I am just ready to scream or pull my hair out, I just take a BIG breath and laugh. That's how you have to handle it or it will drive you crazy!!! After a bad day, got to Scotts Brats and eat a few for me
Snorkel Mangel Halto, day or night with a waterscooter. Check out our website. E-mail Stuart at arubabob@live.com or call Stuart local: 745-7459 Or visit: www.arubabobsnorkeling.com 50th trip Dec 11, 2017

Hey boys, if you move back, be prepared to deal with Comcast, Florida power, ATT, and many other customer no service outfits. The banks on the other hand are good. Aruba does not have a monopoly on bad customer service.
