Getting married in Aruba

Want to get married in Aruba Spring 2006..........checking hotels and such out small group of family going with us 15 maybe 20 people. Any info would be appreciated thinking about the Holiday Inn - a garden wedding like the marriott and Raddison but don't want to put the family out expense wise so thought it just a long weekend thing and we will hardly be in our rooms so decided Holiday Inn should be fine not sure if we will do all inclusive or not.......going thurs - Monday............

Re: Getting married in Aruba

Might want to check with the hotel. They have the main building closed now for renovations. After that they are doing the other two one by one. We stayed at the Holiday in July and were very disappointed with the food. It was nice to get all the drinks you wanted but we ended up eating out. I must complement you on caring about your guests budget. Check out the Wyndham. I've seen many posts here on how great their all-inclusive is.

Re: Getting married in Aruba

My wife and I got married in Aruba Sept.04 our coordinator was Indira Maduro from Aruba Fairytales. You need to be on the island for at least 3 days b-4 you can marry if you are from the states. We stayed at the Tamarijn and had the legal ceremony at Town hall and the another ceremony on Palm beach at sunset.
Good luck to you

The place to have a beautiful dinner reception would be at the moomba beach club. Right beside the holiday inn, very beautiful. Good food and service. All open and on the beach.

I agree with Nancy just got back from Aruba OCT 10th stayed at the Aruba Grand. Did not do all inclusive as my husband and I like to try out the many different restaurants. We walked by the Holiday Inn many many times and I would not stay there. Way too crowded with kids everywhere. We have 2 grown sons of our own been there done that. When we vacation do not want kids screaming everywhere. Aslo the 2 days it rained there was a very bad distinctive sewage smell by the Holiday Inn. I would look into the Wyndham or Aruba Grand. Better yet go to MCM tours and speak with Amy she will give you different options. They strictly deal with Abura reservations and Amy is very knowelagble and helpful. Good luck. Of all the destinations we have been to Abura by far is my favorite. Congratulations and have fun.

Re: Getting married in Aruba

We got married in Aruba this summer. we had 63 guests join us. We stayed at the Divi and had guests at both the Divi and Tamarijn. It was wonderful. We had gotten engaged in Aruba two years ago and stayed at the Radisson, which is gorgeous. However, we did the all-inclusive at the Divi and the Tam this time and it was the best thing we could have done. We too were concerned about our guests' budget. Drinks and food can get very expensive on the island. The Divi and Tam are not as luxurious as the Radisson but everyone saved alot by doing the all-inclusive and everyone loved it. My cousin stayed at the Holiday Inn and was not happy. She wished she was staying at the Divi. It was a very laid back atmosphere with lots of entertainment to keep everyone busy. The rooms are not top of the line, but are only steps to the beach, which everyone loved. If you have any questions let me know. I know it can be scary planning a wedding so far away, but everything turned out perfect and our guests are still talking about how it was the best wedding they've ever been to.
