Good News for Red Cross

From Amigoe.com

I hope this will help the RED Cross to be able participate in Carnival now.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ORANJESTAD – During the official inauguration of the new building of the Representation of the Netherlands in Oranjestad (VNO), the Dutch State Secretary Ank Bijleveld of Kingdom Relations presented the Red Cross with a contribution of 10.000 florins.
“ Bijleveld thought it more important obliging the Red Cross with money and technical assistance, which is something she indicated very clear to the invitees in her speech. “The Aruban Red Cross totally depends on volunteers and not always works in easy circumstances. Not only is Aruba as big as a medium-sized municipality in the northern part of the Netherlands, it also has an international airport, a refinery, big hotels, and it also runs the necessary risk of heavy tropical storms. Due to the central role of the Red Cross during contingencies in Aruba, the Red Cross together with that of the Netherlands is in the process of reforming the organization here.
Prime-Minister, the organization can also use some aid with this. I therefore like to present the organization with 10.000…Aruban guilders, I emphasize Mr. Prime Minister, no euros, no dollars.”
