No proof is necessary. I received my Goodwill Ambassadorship award last year at the Costa Linda. I was given a form to fill out at the Hotel, and they called me a few days later to come to the lobby for pictures along with a few other people. I think the tourist bureau picks one hotel per week and if you happen to be staying at that hotel and you qualify, they present you with the award. The Costa Linda was also nice enough to give us a free dinner to honor our loyalty to the island. I did have the longest streak of consecutive years of all the people that received the award when I received mine. 33 years in a row and still counting. Looking forward to year 34 next week.

It's actually up to the hotel (or someone in your party) to contact the ATA to set up the date/time of the presentation. We notified our hotel (Aruba Grand) for our 10 yr. and they took care of the details. Then the following year, the hotel we were staying at that year (Amsterdam Manor) did a surprise presentation at their mgr's cocktail party (they didn't realize we got ours the year before.) So now we have two 10 yr. certificates.

Dom - Congrats on your 33 years...and counting!

Re: Distinguished Guests or Ambassadors of Good Will

    Hello,

My husband and I received the award as distiguished guests after our 10th consecutive year of visiting Aruba. We received the award as Ambasadors of Good Will 5 years ago and now up to 31 consecutive years of visiting Aruba 3 to 6 times a year If you want to become a Distinguished Guest or Ambasador of Good Will and you meet the criteria, advise the front desk at your resort who will provide you with the department that handles such matters.

Thanks for the information all - that's awesome! We didn't have passports the first few years - they weren't required back then

I haven't been going to Aruba as long as Andrea (the 70's) but next month it will be 24 years for me (since '85). In the last 5 years I've gone to Aruba about 15 times. I lost count along time ago of total trips. Some years I have gone 2 or 3, 4x's. I had my own travel business for many years travelling to other places, so I wasn't always consecutive before 5 years ago. I'll have to wait another 5 years (if I'm still alive) to get my award.

This was proposed a few years back, but never happened.

We didn't need any proof. They took us for our word but we have stayed at the same place the last 15 years.
