    Groceries, Boxing Day, Sundays

We are arriving Saturday, 12/26, the day after Christmas.

I know that Aruba celebrates Boxing Day but don't know if it would be celebrated on a Saturday or the Monday that follows, 12/28.

Will any major grocery stores be open Saturday 12/26, Sunday 12/27, or Monday 12/28?

    Thank you.

Never have been to Chengs.....do they have most of the staples you would want (including alcohol)?
are they open seven days a week?

Superfood had a website with a section "News and Events".
It's only August and they don't mention anything about Christmas yet but I would check their website when the time is right.

Here are their usual opening hours (I would definitely check before Christmas time):

    Opening hours:
    Mon - Sat: 8am - 8pm
    Sunday: 9am - 6pm

    Address:
    Bubali 141-A
    Noord, Aruba

    Phone: +297 522-2000
    Fax: +297 587-7078

    Email:
    info@superfoodaruba.com

Lings has a website as well.
I would think they would advertise their opening hours for Christmas.

Regular Opening Hours are similar to Superfood.

Boxing day is always held the day after Christmas. In the past the large supermarkets have always been closed on Boxing Day.
Cheng's will be open. Cheng's closes at 10 pm (M-S) and 9 pm on Sunday. In the past on Boxing Day as on other Aruba holidays Cheng's closes at 7 pm. Coming from the airport Cheng's is less than 1/2 mile going inland after Super Foods.

Liquor/wine is located on the last aisle on the right. Super Foods and Ling's will open their regular hours the next day on Sunday

Rob like Liz said, Boxing Day is a national holiday and like Christmas always celebrated on that exact day.

Cheng's has always been our "go to" grocery store when the others are closed. It's small and cramped but they have a ton of the usual staples (including alcohol) but you do have to look a bit for things since it's not overly organized. We never buy everything there but enough to get us by for a couple of days until we can make the large grocery store/wine shop run to Super Food.

On our trip over NYE last year we got everything we needed at Super Food as usual but....no Amstel Brights at Super Food on the day we were there. So we made a quick stop down the road to Cheng's, picked up a case of Brights and all was good. Cheng's always comes in handy at some point.
