Just saw some pictures of the Tam Beach on another board. It looks worse than when Matthew hit. I feel so bad. They put in so much work getting it back a bit from October. So sad....
Hopefully we'll be back in Spring 2018

Fear not Kathy, the beach is being reconstructed as we speak. Takes a day for the big waves to reshape the ocean floor. Then the waves begin breaking farther out from shore. When they are breaking at the base of the pelican piers, huge amounts of sand is being deposited on the beach. Have been there to experience this several times. Amazing to watch it happen. Wish I were there now.

Thank you for the reassurance. I did see that back in 2007, the first year we went. I just feel bad that they are taking two hits within a few months of each other. We'll be going back in October so there is plenty of time for the beach to rebuild - as long as no more hurricanes come their way. Will miss see you in March! Enjoy!

Left Palm Beach area(Hilton), on Wednesday, surf by Bugaloe was incredible, could not enter the water. Ititos beach sports had set up multiple umbrellas in front of the palapas, barely could use any of them, water was reaching up that high. Water was churning up sand at least a 100 yards out. Full moon was incredible Tuesday night, also saw large dump trucks dropping off sand at the end of the Tamarajin...would like to see that area get a break soon!

per the various webcams that i look at, the sea is still very rough.

does aruba have something like the usa's army corp of engineers that could do some sort of a study to see what could be done to help reduce beach erosion?

My husband suggested this to me last night when I told him about the rough seas once again. If they do not they should seriously consider, it is very hard to see all the hard work and progress they make slowly disappear so quickly.

Sorry to report that most of the beach at Casa del Mar has again disappeared (see the photo). The surf on this part of the beach has been very rough. As I was walking there I actually saw a wave that broke through the rocks and some of the water actually reached the sliding door of a beachfront unit at Aruba Beach Club. I hope that things settle down soon. The red flags are still flying.High Surf-img_0821.jpg

Has anyone been to the Divi All Inclusive in the past month? Looks like they lost a lot of beach! Heading down for ten days on Feb. 4th. and was curious if they are working on the beach. Pics are from Dec. 2016 and Jan 2017.
