HOLIDAYS! How many different ones have you experienced while in Aruba?

After reading various posts and having friends on the island for different holidays I have a new goal. I want to experience every holiday at least once on Aruba.

We've been there for New Year's (the first time was on our first visit for our honeymoon and were unprepared for the CRAZINESS)

    We've experienced Christmas there twice.

We are planning our next trip for April 2015 and will happen to be there over Easter. Not because of Easter, but that is spring break for our son and he can have a vacation in Florida with grandma while we go to Aruba for our 25th anniversary. Because we are NOT leaving a 17 year old home for a week alone, even if he is quite responsible.

Now hearing of Leslie's turkey sandwiches I'll have to try for a visit over Thanksgiving some year. I hear Halloween is a blast. And Aruba would be a perfect spot for Valentines Day. I guess Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day would not have the same meaning to Arubans. But are there celebrations for the Americans that are there during those days?

I've not been there for Carnival, so that's on my list as well.

Has anyone been there for every holiday? What is your fave?

Sorry nothing beats Christmas and New Year's. Grand Carnival I imagine would be pretty cool.

We usually go for thanksgiving. It so nice that many restaurants offer a special menu for the holiday. We've thought about Christmas and New Years but I don't think I would enjoy the firecrackers as I lean towards quiet and relaxing for my holidays. I've heard that Easter is a busy time on the island. It's a big camping time and shops and restaurants close for the holiday. I wonder, is Halloween celebrated in the island?

I'm not big on firecrackers either, but it does add to the excitement leading up to midnight.

We have been there for the following:

Xmas / New Year's several times ---- wonderful holiday decorations and crazy exploding fireworks during the day and night on New Year's Eve!

Halloween several times --- not a huge holiday but a lot of the bars / restaurants had decorations up -- we got in the spirit

US Independence Day (July 4) -- the Hyatt did have a small fireworks show in the water -- some of the bars had specials

Ascension Day -- Caught us by surprise, but most of the Island was shut down (Gas Stations and the Balashi Brewery and several restaurants)

US Memorial Day -- nothing special that I remember other than a mention here or there
