Has any more been released about the home invasion in Tierra del sol a couple weeks ago, where the occupants were tied up and robbed?

We also heard about that when we were there. I believe it happened on Sat, 10/1. We had heard that there was an open party that night, and two people went in dressed as security guards. It was told to us that they tied up an American couple and robbed them at gun point.

We never were able to confirm this, but we are at Gold Coast across the street and everyone (staff and residents) was talking about it. Never heard any more about it.

What i have been told by my contact person(s) in the ATA is
A german couple restrained and robbed at a home they either owned or were renting.

robbers dressed as security guards.
much valuable jewelry and travelers checks stolen.

no arrests yet in the case

and the source is ATA employees and 24ora.

if anyone finds any other information please post and site source.

I think this was definitely a one-off type burglary. It appears there was a party at the TDS Clubhouse that evening and extra security was hired for the event. My PM tells me the following:

It happened three weeks ago at one of the houses at Tierra del Sol.

i heard it was a German couple, that reported later to the police that jewelry was stolen in the total amount of US$ 500,000.00

at that same time a party was going on in the restaurant / pool area and all roads to the houses within TDS were closed by the company and private security was stationed everywhere to avoid that party guests would drive around on the TDS property.

the robbery was done by people in uniform (not the same security that was present) and probably entered TDS from the north side (not by access road).

camera's around everywhere did not register any vehicles or disturbance.

a very strange and rare event
