How far is Holiday in from Raddison

Im going to aruba to play a big poker tourny at the radisson sep 29-oct 6... The tournament is at the radisson, but it was sold out so I got a room at the holiday inn sunspree. This is my first trip to aruba, so what is the best way to the radisson, is walking an option, or is the bus pretty often? About how long of a walk, or how many miles is it? thanks! I cant wait to see aruba!!

Half mile, easy walk from the Holiday Inn to the Radisson. Wear comfortable clothes in daytime it will be hot!

This is a concrete walkway that extends along Palm Beach, on the ocean side, between the resort properties and actual beaches, from the Divi Phoenix north to the Holiday Inn. Below is a shot of the "boardwalk" taken in front of the Holiday Inn facing south (Marriott Resorts would be at my back). The beach and sand are off to the right of this photo.

Mileage between resorts is below. Time will depend on fast you can walk in the heat. Access is available through the front entrance of all hotels. Riu and Occidental may be exception because they are all inclusive only.

Note: You can walk the beach past the Holiday Inn to the Marriott Vaction Club Resorts (not listed below, but located between the Holiday Inn and Mariott) and ultimately the Marriott Resort. You can also gain acess to the walkway via an alley to De Palm Pier which runs between the Riu and Radisson. There is another also between the Occidental and Hyatt but not sure how easy it is, haven't used it in a few years.

The sign below is old, but the distances are still the same.
For reference below: Aruba Grand is now the Riu and Allegro is now the Occidental

Good luck in your tournament. We left the Radisson last year as the tournament was beginning and it the joint was jumpin'.

Thank you very much, you went out of your way with all that info!

Doesn't seem too far, but we will see what I say when I get in that heat. May just take some type of transportation.

Thanks for the wishes on the tournament, I'm really excited, and I'm sure it will be just as big if not bigger than last year. Thanks again!

I hear what you are saying. Even in the morning last September, after 11 a.m. AND dressed only in a bathing suit it was way too hot when I tried to walk from the Radisson to the Holiday Inn. My then 10 yo only made it as far as the Hyatt.

According to this thread Car Or Public Transportation, specifically, "When we were there in March, the bus was not air conditioned." you are more than likely going to be looking at a taxi back and forth. $5 each way. If you are going to do that more than twice you can look into renting a car, but then you have to worry about finding a parking spot at the Radisson which as you know will be packed. If you do decide to go the car rental route, I would check availability NOW, IF NOT YESTERDAY.

Again, good luck!

The bus is right outside the Holiday Inn and stops in front of the Radisson. The last bus leaves the downtown bus terminal at 11:40 pm - gets to the Radisson around 5 mins. before midnight. In the morning the 1st bus is from H.I.

Here's the bus schedule - the hotel route is the #10 bus. http://arubus.com/
