We go twice a year (April and Sept.) and as long as the airfares aren't outrageous and we're both still working then we plan on doing the same in 2009. We don't gamble and don't buy jewelry and already go to the grocery store so not alot to cut back on - maybe a couple more dinners "in" rather than "out".

If the airfares are bad, then we would only go once next year but would extend our fall trip from 17 days to 21 days.

This will be the first year that we hit the supermarket for beer and snacks. We can't give up the dinners out but I will cut back on the gambling.

For the first time in years, looking into "All Inclusive," but it is a long ways off. My friend does have a time share and it has always served its purpose so far. Our first trip there, however, was at an "All Inclusive," but later the time share was purchased.

Though we really enjoy eating out and at the beach, we have done the cooking in the room more often. I guess, since the next visit will be next year, we will have to wait and see how bad things really get. The bottom line, however, is no matter what, the yearly visit to Aruba won't stop.

Oh, Rob O...Good sense of humour.

i think i'm on mark's father camp. although i hate being gouged up the wazoo with food and drink prices at the resorts, i also would loathe cooking and/or lugging an ice box full of drinks to the beach to save a few bucks - its probably $100's. anyhow, when on vacation, expenses are of no matter. if it was, i would've chosen a cheaper locale to begin with. besides, my househodl hardly cooks at home and i doubt we'll start to while on vacation.

The economy hasn't affected us at all as far as Aruba is concerned. We go every year for 3 weeks to a month depending on our schedules and this year will be no different. They only thing I think we will not be doing because of the economy is not taking a cruise next year.

Like everyone is saying, its a hard economy, but us true Aruba Lovers, will always find a way to go back and worry about other things before loosing a day on our home away from home.
