We were there in Nov and lots of construction lobby & lobby bar under construction heard they finnished anyone been there recently. We are going back for 6 days, we were disapointed with the construction but decided it wasn't that bad and if the lobby and lobby bar is all set then it should be better than Nov. Its such a good location right in the middle of everything and they have the nicest pool in aruba, the beach area is nice easy access and we like the happy hour in front of playa linda right next door... 4 weeks can't wait!!!!

Finished, but don't like it. It was better the old way by the bar. They have couches in there that are like beds. What's with that?? And they don't have the band there either.

Let me know what the lobby and bar look like. I am going there in July and this will be my 12th stay at the Hyatt. I saw a model of the rooms when I was there back in October.

IF you like uncomfortable, sterile, Asian modern furniture that completely clashes with the Caribbean architecture of the hotel, then you will like the Hyatt's renovations. It's awful what the designer did to that beautiful lobby. The beds next to the bar are an eyesore. It's too bad, we really enjoyed relaxing in the old lobby
chairs.

Just returned and although the old hyatt was nice the new one is still nicely set up. It is somewhat more modern looking with the "sofa" style beds at the lobby bar. they do have "normal" type seating also. The lobby is mostly white drapped curtains. I liked it very much compared to many of the other hotels decor this is still the best place!!!

We were there in January and could not believe how they ruined the wonderful bar and Lobby. We usually go every night and have a drink at the bar but it is so uncomfortable..The waitress at the bar said business it down 50% and I could understand why. She asked us to email a complaint to the Hyatt Corp headquarters. There is no band and the only one on the queen size beds were kids that were jumping. The only place I have ever seen that set up is in south Beach at the Shore club. It is not a design for the people that visit Aruba..

I have been to the Hyatt about 4 times each year. Just returned. I do prefer the old lobby. The furnishing prior the renovation where much more condusive to the atmosphere of the hotel. The lobby bar is kind of brighter and maybe a touch more inviting.They still have a band that plays, they are located on the other side of bar. The "beds" are rather uncomforable when sitting with more than 2 people. Rumor has it, they are soon to go as well as the oversized pots with dead banana tree placed around the lobby. They look like pods from the movie cacoon. One thing i miss most is the oversized, comfort of the lobby chairs. The furniture is not comforable. And that big beautiful lobby chandelier is gone and replaced with another fixture that is a bit too bright. The lobby is a bit nicer and night.

We were there in Dec. and were most disappointed with the "new" look. What was once a very lovely lobby (it did need a face lift though) has turned into a very sterile attempt at modern "hotel chic" which doesn't blend well with the outdoor Caribbean theme surrounding the outside of this hotel. In addition, we used to love to go and sit at the lobby bar and listen to the live band. No live band and once again, the modern "chic" double beds with canopy bed frames that substitute as coaches, what is with that? Well, we never stepped foot into the bar this year, if I wanted to lie down on a bed and have a drink, I would have stayed in my room!!!

It did make changes and not to a lot of peoples taste, but they wanted to do something different and I think the lobby bar with its complete white look is quite nice.. Changes are not always welcomed by everybody.. Hyatt is still my favorite..Goodjob...
