Looks like a lot of people on the beach there today...and not a cloud in the sky...wish I were there.

I have been on some of the other BBs today - people that are in Aruba now are reporting that most of the beaches have been cleaned up already and the weather is very nice today. Most of the watersport vendors are back on the beach and people are swimming in the sea. Thankfully!

According to the local weather forecasters, Meteorological service of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba http://www.weather.an/

Friday

Partly Cloudy
High 91F.
Low 79 F.
Sunrise 6:25 AM
Sunset 6:52 PM

Some of the forecasts are suggesting showers on Saturday due to a POSSIBLE passing tropical wave. That is why you may see "isolated" showers. Many at time I have seen it rain on one end of Palm Beach and where we are standing is perfectly dry, and vice versa. Nothing to worry about. Get busy and start packing and wonderful trip.

Also check out this thread Weather URL's Aruba and beyond

I've said before and I will say it again, you will want to worry when the wind dies down and goes away. You have not experienced HOT.

One brave person there. Or were they stupid? The clip of the Natural pool is not to be missed.

Wow, that was amazing. And to think that was mild compared to what the other islands have endured.

I say stupid AND brave!

I just heard about a possible "disturbance" for next week. My boyfriend and I are leaving on Tuesday morning and getting into Aruba in the early afternoon.

Has anyone heard anything about something that could turn into a possible hurricane, near aruba?

The computer model has it heading north of Aruba mirroring a path similar to Dean.

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh...l/282348.shtml?
A TROPICAL WAVE IS LOCATED MIDWAY BETWEEN AFRICA AND THE LESSER
ANTILLES ALONG 40W/41W S OF 18N. A 1010 MB LOW IS ALONG THE WAVE
AXIS NEAR 10N. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS
FEATURE HAVE NOT BECOME ANY BETTER ORGANIZED THIS EVENING.
HOWEVER...ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY
BECOME MORE FAVORABLE FOR SOME DEVELOPMENT AS THIS SYSTEM MOVES
WESTWARD AT 15 TO 20 MPH. THIS TROPICAL WAVE WILL ENTER THE
TROPICAL N ATLC WED NIGHT OR THU...AND INTO THE E CARIBBEAN FRI
AND SAT.

As of Monday on the news they mentioned this Wave out in the Atlantic, and at the time they said that it didn't appear as if it would amount to anything.

Time will tell.

The light blue path projected according to some is the least accurate model.
