hurricanes/storms?

hi, we went to aruba this year and hopefully we will be back next year already. nothing beats aruba!!! anyway, when is the time not to go to my favorite island? i am thinking of storms/hurricanes/you name it.
and - how can they fligh in to aruba when it is really bad weather? it is bumpy as it is I reckon, with all the trade winds....

I miss aruba so much!!!

Re: hurricanes/storms?

WELL ARUBA IS NOT IN THE HURRICANE BELT, AND IVAN WAS A FREAK THING THEY NEVER GOT HIT BY IVAN JUST THE TAIL END OF THE STORM. WHEN I WENT TO ARUBA LAST SEPT. WE FLOW OVER HURRICANE JENNI. IT WAS NOT A BAD FLIGHT ACTUALLY. SO GO TO ARUBA AS MUCH AS YOU CAN AND ENJOY! 61 DAYS AND COUNTING!

Re: hurricanes/storms?

they choose a different flight pattern and fly around it...at least that is what they just did with us...that is the beauty of aruba - just go around the storms to get to it!!!!!!

Re: hurricanes/storms?

I went in August of last year, prime hurricane time for all caribbian islands except Aruba. Aruba is below the hurricane line. It doesn't have hurricanes. Go anytime, its great either way.

No need to worry about hurricanes/storms. It doesn't happen there. Been there for 24 yrs. and never have seen them once.

Re: hurricanes/storms?

The "ABC" islands (Aruba being the "A") are typically considered to be OUTSIDE the hurricane belt, which is what makes them more attractive destinations year-round.

That's not to say they don't get storms and rain, but significantly less.

Re: hurricanes/storms?

Isn't hurricane Emily just north of Venezuela right now -- right about where Aruba is?

Re: hurricanes/storms?

I was there just last week and only 1 day of the week it was pretty ugly it rained the whole day. That was because the tropical storm dennis was about 100 miles from aruba at that time
