hyatt room question

Hi. We'll be going to the Hyatt in March and have booked an ocean/pool view (the best we could afford during Spring Break week). I noticed that the ocean/island view is also available. Can anyone tell me which is a better view for the ocean. We've visited the hotel before but never stayed there. Thanks

Re: hyatt room question

We always stay at the Hyatt and the ocean/island view would be your better room. The ocean/pool view will put you right outside of the pool. It is not that it is bad but there is a band that plays nightly and it can get noisy. We try and get the corner rooms that are out front of the beach area that faces the beach and the water. Spring break will be busy depending on how many people venture to go to Aruba. You will have a great time no matter what - your not in the room for that long anyway.

Re: hyatt room question

Stick with ocean/pool so you get the courtyard and pool rather than the Playa Linda. cj

Re: hyatt room question

The rooms have essentially the same amenities. The only difference is which side of the hotel they are on. The Hyatt is shaped like a horseshoe facing the ocean and those hotel rooms are located in one of the towers that runs perpendicular to the beach. On the inside of the tower you have tho ocean/pool view that overlooks the pool area. The only downside to staying in this room is that they usually have nightly bands and karaoke that play until approximately 11PM. It can get loud even with your sliding door shut tight. Also, if you are low to the ground, your view is essentially of palm trees in the pool area. The other side of the tower has the ocean/island view. The view isn't as good as you don't get to see the pool or much of the beach (unless you are high up) as you are facing the Playa Linda resort next door. In my honest opinion I would take the least expensive room as the balconies are so narrow that you can't really put down a chair to sit outside and enjoy the view anyway. They are something of a joke in that there literally is just enough room to step out onto the balcony.

I would take the less expensive room at the Hyatt, unless you upgrade to a suite or the concierge level.

The Hyatt is a great hotel with a beautiful property and fine restaurants. However the regular rooms are nothing special.

Re: hyatt room question

I'm not worried about the noice at night. We usually stay up late in the casino so the band shouldn't make a difference. We would rather have a suite but there weren't any available.

Thanks for all of your help
